Describe yourself in three words:  Energetic, kind-hearted and silly

How did you first get involved with ACCESS?  I was given Bonnie’s contact information to discuss my interest in working in the schools assisting students in bettering themselves.  The rest is history.

What is your most memorable/rewarding moment working with ACCESS?  I had one student at Great Bridge three years ago who was repeatedly getting denied from schools due to his low SAT scores.  I spoke to his mother to suggest he look into test-optional schools, like CNU and GMU.  She called me weeping to tell me that he had gotten into GMU, which is where he ultimately chose to attend.  She said they had felt hopeless, and I was able to give them hope.  He also became one of our ACCESS Scholars that year.

What is the most important piece of advice you would give to a college-bound student? Don’t wait until your Junior or Senior year to buckle down and focus on your school work.  Very often grades from 9th and 10th grade negatively affect a student’s GPA and could ultimately prevent them from getting into their dream school.
